Best Time of Year for an Umrah Trip: Monthly Analysis

Unlike Hajj, which occurs during a fixed Islamic month, Umrah can be performed all year round. However, differences in weather, crowd density, and flight prices can completely change your experience.

1. The Winter Window (November to February)

  • Weather: Exceptionally pleasant. Daytime temperatures in Mecca and Medina hover around 25°C to 30°C, making walking and outdoor rituals extremely comfortable.
  • Crowds: Highly dense. Due to the perfect weather and school holidays in Pakistan and the Gulf, hotel occupancy is extremely high. Book 2 months in advance!

2. The Post-Hajj Off-Season (Muharram & Safar)

  • Weather: Very hot, often exceeding 40°C.
  • Crowds: Exceptionally low. Stays are quiet, checking in is instant, and there are very short lines for Tawaf and Rawdah permits.
  • Pricing: This is the absolute cheapest time to secure cheap Umrah packages and low-cost flights!
